About this uk cv template
In the UK it is a "CV", not a resume, and it follows a few clear conventions: no photo, no date of birth and no marital status, a short personal statement at the top, then employment history, education and additional information such as a driving licence and right to work. Two A4 pages is the norm. This template follows all of these; the sample is for a marketing manager.
How to fill in this CV
- 1
Open it with "Edit online", or download the Word file.
- 2
Add your name, town, mobile number, email and LinkedIn. A full address is no longer needed.

Write a 4–5 line personal statement in the first person: who you are, your best result and what you want next.
- 4
List each job with month and year dates and 2–4 results-focused bullets.
- 5
Add your degree class, A-levels and GCSEs (or your country's equivalents), then save as PDF.
Tips for a UK CV
Leave out personal details
UK employers do not expect a photo, age, date of birth, nationality or marital status. Leaving them out is standard.
State your right to work
If you are not a UK citizen, say whether you have settled status or which visa you hold. It saves the recruiter a question.
Use British spelling
"Organised", "programme", "licence" (noun). Recruiters notice American spelling.
Convert foreign qualifications
If your degree is from abroad, give the UK equivalent (for example "equivalent to a UK bachelor's degree").
