Install the FileConvy app

Put FileConvy on your home screen and open your PDF, image and scan tools in one tap, full screen like a normal app. It's free, needs no app store, and takes under a minute.

🤖 Android (Chrome)

Bonus on Android: after installing, FileConvy shows up in the share menu, so you can send files from WhatsApp straight to a tool.

  1. Open www.fileconvy.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right.
  3. Tap Install app. On some phones it says Add to Home screen.
  4. Tap Install to confirm. The FileConvy icon appears on your home screen.

To share a file: in WhatsApp, long-press the PDF or photo, tap the Share icon and pick FileConvy.

🍎 iPhone & iPad (Safari)

Apple doesn't allow websites to show an install button, so this is done from the Share menu.

  1. Open www.fileconvy.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button: the square with an arrow pointing up (⬆️). On iPhone it's in the bar at the bottom; on iPad it's at the top right.
  3. Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen. If you don't see it, tap Edit Actions at the bottom and add it.
  4. Tap Add at the top right. FileConvy is now on your Home Screen.

Using Chrome on iPhone? Tap the Share icon in the address bar, then Add to Home Screen (iOS 16.4 or newer).

💻 Windows, Mac & Chromebook (Chrome or Edge)

  1. Open www.fileconvy.com in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
  2. Click the install icon (a small screen with a down arrow) at the right end of the address bar.
  3. No icon? Open the browser menu and choose Cast, save and share → Install page as app in Chrome, or Apps → Install this site as an app in Edge.
  4. Click Install. FileConvy opens in its own window and appears in your Start menu or Dock.

Questions

Is the FileConvy app free?

Yes. The app is the same free FileConvy website, saved to your device. There is no payment, signup or app store download.

Does it take up space on my phone?

Hardly any. Installing only adds an icon and a few small files, far less than a normal app.

Can I share files from WhatsApp to FileConvy?

On Android, yes: once installed, FileConvy appears in the share menu, so you can send a PDF or photo from WhatsApp, Gallery or Files straight to a tool. iPhone does not allow websites in the share menu, so on iPhone open FileConvy and choose the file there.

Does the app work offline?

No. The tools need an internet connection, the same as the website.

How do I uninstall it?

Remove it like any app: long-press the icon and choose Uninstall or Remove App. On a computer, open the app, click the menu at the top and choose Uninstall.
